Behind The Journal
Our Health Journal is published by Anabaptist Health Ministries, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to develop and publish biblical, scientific, and relatable health education for all Christians.
Each thoughtfully-edited issue is completely ad-free and contains informative and thought-provoking articles, Q&As, healthy recipes, interesting stories, and more. It's the kind of publication you can hand to a young mother, a child, a grandfather, or a curious neighbor with equal confidence. We strive for content that endures. The stack of issues on your shelf should be a resource your household returns to for many years.
Subscribers receive each quarterly issue by mail. We hope to offer the Journal in digital form in the future.

Seven Commitments
That Shape Our Work
These are the values we measure ourselves against — in the office, in the editing room, and in every issue we send out.
Truth
We tell the truth — in Scripture, in science, and in the way we run this work.
Return of Value
Every page should give back more than it asks of the reader and the donor.
People
Readers, authors, and staff are made in God’s image and treated as such.
Originality
We do our own thinking and our own writing, not just repeating what is fashionable.
Virtue
Character matters in a publisher. We work with integrity, modesty, and patience.
Unity
We labor as one body — across boards, staff, and authors — for a shared end.
Excellence
The Journal that lands on your table should reflect our very best work.
Our Creed
The convictions that guide our work, written down so readers, authors, and donors know exactly where we stand.
We Believe
- In God as the Creator of the universe and everything in it (Acts 14:15).
- In a literal six-day creation (Genesis 1).
- That people are created by God for His pleasure and eternal fellowship (Genesis 1:27).
- That Jesus is God’s Son, and that He died to redeem us (Hebrews 2:9).
- That the Sermon on the Mount is to be taken literally and applies today (Matthew 7:24–27).
- That He rose again and lives today, and will come back for His bride, the church (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:11).
- That the Holy Spirit abides in the heart of all God’s children (Romans 8:11).
- That all people must be born again to enter heaven (John 3:3).
- That heaven and hell, good and evil, are real (Revelation 21:1–6; Matthew 25:41).
- That marriage is between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24).
- That the husband is the leader of the home (Ephesians 5:23).
- That the husband must love his wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25).
- That the wife must submit to her husband as the Church unto Christ (Ephesians 5:22).
- That the home is the foundational social unit of every culture and society.
- That children are from God and are one of life’s greatest treasures (Psalm 127:3).
- That belonging to a church is an integral part of God’s plan for the Christian (1 Corinthians 12:12–14, 27).
We Will Emphasize
- Well-being starts with God, His word, and obedience to His principles.
- Well-being is more than physical health. Every dimension of well-being is important, and they are all connected.
- Disease prevention.
- Love and civility in our tone and conversation.
- The SOLUTIONS in life, more than the PROBLEMS of life.
